I Have photographed hundreds of weddings in the Hudson Valley and Catskill Mountains.  The couples who have the most fun hire great pros and expect them to do a great job.  As a wedding Photographer I see so many well meaning guests spending the whole day taking photos and takings up all the bride and grooms time.  I don't get angry at all, but I wonder if they enjoyed the wedding.  It is kind of like going to a concert with ear plugs and watching it through your cell phone.  I never quite understood what everyone does with the hundreds of Cake shots ?

The Hudson Valley and surrounding Catskills it is so beautiful why not be in the moment and share the love with friends and family.  I  always put up an online galley with a thousand or so photographs.  I am starting to see many couples say leave the cameras off and enjoy the many delights and love a wedding brings.

All I mean is consider going unplugged.  Eat, drink and be really present.  I think you will love it.

I have been the owner photographer at Aperture Photography for over 20 years.  It can be a busy hectic life.  Busy days. tight schedule and crowed venues are the norm.  This year I am taking a fresh look at my favorite venues.  The preparation I do now will surely serve my customers well.

I am visiting the wonderful wedding venues during quiet times and looking for opportunities to add some fresh perceptive to my wedding photography.  The Mohonk Mountain House is always a joy.  It is one of the most remarkable venues " dare I say in the world".  I also love the staff.  They treat everyone so well.  Even the vendors.

The picture above is not the typical photograph I will be taking at The Mohonk Mountain House.  But as I walk the grounds of these remarkable venues I will see photographs that I never have seen before.  Along with the photographs I take now, I will give my customers new and exciting looks at already spectacular places.

The beautiful Mountain Villages of the Catskill Mountains of Upstate, NY

Although, I spent a lot of time photographing weddings throughout Upstate, NY and New York City,  I just love the mountains of the Catskills and Adirondacks along  with locations like the Mohonk Mountain House, The Full Moon Resort and Onteora Mountain house, The small villages of the mountains have such charm.  They have wonderful mountain light and the old buildings are decorated beautifully.  This is a shot from a wedding in the village of Tannersville, near the Hunter Mountain Ski Resort.

The Hunter Ski slopes are beautiful.  But, people miss out on the surroundings areas.  The Wood lands are out of a Disney movie.  The waterfalls are world famous.  All minutes from the famous ski slopes of Hunter and Windham.  This location is 5 minutes from the Copper Tree Inn in Hunter, NY.

The light in the Catskills has attracted artists since the 1830's.  The Light is simply amazing.  This shot was taken at Hunter Mountain and the Reception was at The Copper Tree Inn.  Windham Mountain which is a few miles to the north has very similar light.  You simply cannot beat it.  The bride is from France and she just radiates grace and beauty.  Aperture Photography photographs wedding throughout the Catskills, Upstate, NY and the Northeast part of the USA and beyond.

This year I will have the honor to photography many beautiful weddings in the Catskills in Upstate, NY.  Some of the locations will be Hunter, Tannersville, Round Top, Big Indian and Windham .  I also have a great engagement session scheduled at the famous Kaaterskill Falls.  I cannot wait.  On a few weekends I will have one wedding in the mountains and one in NYC.  The totally different feel is so good for artistic health.  I cannot wait !
